Michael Krueger is from Elmira, NY. He attended Elmira Free Academy for high school. He is currently studying commerce at the University of Virginia with concentrations in Finance and Accounting. He will be graduating in the Spring of 2012. Mike spent his previous summer as an intern at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in the business department. The summer before that he was studying abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia. Mike has a forensic accounting internship at PriceWaterhouseCoopers for the summer of 2011. In his free time, Mike enjoys rowing, tennis, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Sean Rodrigues is a long time community service pursuer. He is currently president of UR Rotaract a community service organization that caters to service within the Rochester, New York. As President of UR Rotaract, Sean has engaged the community of Rochester by implementing a mentoring program through partnership with a local YMCA. Over the summer, Sean created a program for local Turkish Refugee high school students, that UR Rotaract mentors during the school year, to provide the students with insight into science at a university. He currently is a workshop leader and teaching assistant for the intro chemistry courses and chemical engineering courses at the University of Rochester. Sean has been the recipient of numerous academic awards and scholarships provided by his institution. He has presented at various scientific symposiums regarding his research on fuel cells and will hold a research position this summer at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.
Business Summary
Global Student Connect (GSC) is a non-profit startup organization based in Hartford, Connecticut that connects schools from across the globe in order to enhance the foreign language experience in schools. Students can interact, communicate, and practice their language skills with native speakers through the use of GSC’s videoconferencing and educational software. The company brings the dialects, colloquialisms and body language of native speakers to the ears and eyes of the learner.
