Below are some common questions related to the competition:
Who can be on my team if I am participating in the Elevator Competition?
Anyone you want. However, your team must have at least one degree-seeking student from an accredited college or university (at the undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate level), and that person must be at the competition in Winston-Salem. The student must be on the elevator and be an active participant.
Is there a limit to the number of team members?
Teams are limited to four people. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
May I belong to more than one team?
No.
May I submit more than one entry?
No.
May we change team members after registration?
Yes, as long as the team member requirements listed above are still met.
Is there a limit to the number of entries a given school may submit?
No, a school may submit as many entries as it likes.
May teams return if they participated in the competition in prior years?
No, teams may compete only once in the competition. However, teams may submit again if they were not selected to compete in the previous year’s competition.
When is the registration deadline?
Registration must be completed by midnight EST on February 15, 2011.
What do I need to submit for registration?
Registration is the same for the Traditional Competition and the Social Competition. There are two steps to registration. The first step is to click on the Team Registration link and submit your Intent to Compete, including contact information. Be sure to select the appropriate competition in the drop-down box. You will receive an email confirming your registration. The Team Registration page also includes a link to upload your executive summary, which is the second and final step in the registration process. You can submit your executive summary any time before midnight EST on February 15, 2011 .
